The house and garden are shown on guided tours only. Allow a minimum of one hour to visit the home and garden. Hours are subject to change.

A Visitors Center is projected to open at a later date.

 

Directions to the Welty House
 
     1119 Pinehurst Street, Jackson, Mississippi

  • From I-55, take the Fortification Street exit (96)
  • Travel west on Fortification, turning right at the first stop light on Greymont
  • Travel north, turning left on Pinehurst Street at the 2nd four-way stop
  • The Eudora Welty House is in the 2nd block on the left.

Parking

  • If traveling by bus or large van, contact the Welty House prior to your visit for bus and van parking information.
  • Off-street parking, including parking for disabled visitors, will not be available until the Visitors Center opens.  
  • Please be considerate of Belhaven homeowners by avoiding their driveways.      .

General Information

  • Tours through the house are limited to 12 persons.   For groups of 13 or more, please call to see if your group can be accommodated.
  • For a complete tour of the house, visitors must be able to climb one flight of stairs.  
  • In the garden visitors must be able to negotiate uneven terrains.
  • Only service animals are allowed on the premises.  
  • Photography is not allowed in the Eudora Welty House.
  • Strollers, large bags, or backpacks are not permitted inside the Eudora Welty House.
  • In the event of inclement weather, please call to check the status of your tour.
  • Restroom facilities are not available at this time.
